Let the honeymoon begin! After a late night of packing we were up around 7:30, packed and “on the road” by 8:45. Michael told me I packed too much. I told him after 2 years he should know this about me already! Quick stop for gas, back to the house for the tools we had forgot then on the road. .
As we left Binghamton we passed Rick and Tina in their Vue. We are looking forward to trying to meet up with them out west. The skies are gray everywhere. Our first stop was in Bath at Camping World to get extension mirrors. Michael wanted to be able to see behind him…he’s so high maintenance. Having skipped breakfast (had a protein bar at 9:30) we fixed lunch before we got back on the road.
We stopped in Flalconville for gas expecting it to be cheaper than Binghamton. It was more expensive at 3.85. We filled it just enough to get to Ohio where it was almost 40 cents cheaper at 3.39 a gallon. Still grey and rain everywhere. The temperature has generally been in the 60’s but dipped down to 58 in one area.
When we were about 80 miles outside of Cleveland we saw a plane that at first look was a glider. As we got closer we realized a single prop plane. Michael thought then perhaps there was an air show but we appeared to be literally in the middle of nowhere. As we approached we saw him spin, dip then drop something on the field. The farmer was crop dusting and having a great time doing it. It was just like the movies!
We had a difficult time finding a campground after we passed Toledo. The only one with bathrooms ranked higher than a 4 according to our Good Sam’s disk was Harrison State Park. 525 miles for day 1!
