Last night it was light out until almost 10:30. Both of us were a little uneasy about the campsite. I hadn’t slept well the previous 2 nights so I passed out. Poor Michael barely slept. In the morning I skipped the shower because I was a little skived out about the place. After Michael showered and we picked up a quick breakfast at McDonalds we were off.
The GPS took us up several smaller highways (similar to route 12). We would go for miles with only an occasional house and were out of cell service for many miles at a time. It was beautiful though. Even here the rivers, creeks and lakes are clearly flooded. Michael read yesterday in the paper that they flooding is going to be indefinite around here because they still haven’t gotten all the snow melt from the mountains.
On our way to Kalispell, I texted my Cousin Ryan and his wife Mollie. They live in Seattle. We are planning on heading there next to see them. We picked out a campground last night. Michael was amazed at how quickly we got here. The campground is clean and we have a shaded spot right next to the creek. They have a place is the creek for kids to swim so of course Michael is planning on going in after his nap. I will be working on my homework. If I can read 90 pages this evening I can have this book finished.
We went into town and had lunch and went to Wal Mart. Believe it or not we found a closed Wal Mart…of course they had built a new super sized one a few miles away. The couple in the camp site next to us are from Alberta. They told us a few sites to see. They are here mainly for the shopping. We had noticed that there were lots of Canadians here. Apparently things are much cheaper here than in Canada. We hada campfire and smores tonight…mmmmm. Tomorrow Glacier!
