This morning we slept in at our hotel and took our time getting up. By the time we ate breakfast it was past 11 before we were on the road. We had a few campgrounds in mind as we entered Tahoe. Unfortunately, we learned 2 things today. Number 1: you can only book a site for 2 nights if you do not have a reservation. Number 2: everything is booked for the weekend. We ended up at a rustic campground with no showers. I wasn’t thrilled with it but what can you do. We heard you may be able to shower at the local gym for 5 bucks.
We headed up to hike around rim trail. You will never guess what greeted us on the trail…SNOW! Go figure right. Once again many of the trails are closed due to the excessive snow. Its starting to get on my nerves. Instead, we went to a few look out points and took some pictures. We found a nice bench and sat by the water for awhile just the two of us.
After that we headed over to the Biltmore hotel where we had eaten many times when we were here before. The menu was a little different and it wasn’t quite as good as we remember but it has free WiFi! I believe we will be back again! Next we are heading over to the Cal Neva resort where we stayed last year then back to the campsite for the night.
