We drove all day through Montana over into Washington. We had forgotten how desert like the eastern side of the state was. There were dust devils and storms everywhere. We didn’t stop much and just pushed to get to where we were going. The GPS told us Vantage didn’t exist but I we found it on the map and was able to figure out which exit we would be looking for.
The campground was almost completely empty. We couldn’t believe how windy it was. We opened all the windows in the camper hoping that letting the wind run through it would stop it from shaking the camper so much. Molly and Ryan arrived at the campground about 6:30. They were able to get the site right behind ours and set up while I finished up dinner.
After dinner we had planned on having a campfire and cooking smores. That lasted about 15 minutes due to the wind. Instead, we set up the table in the camper and played cards for a bit. Lots of fun! The winds continued for about a half hour after we went to bed then just died.
