We woke up and had breakfast together. I made pancakes and eggs. Then we were off to the Ginkgo Petrified Forrest. We were expecting…well I’m not exactly sure what we were expecting but I know it was not what we found. There were petrified trees (about 5 different types) periodically on the path. The tree stumps had been dug around and protected. Unfortunately to protect them they put bars over the top of them so you had an obscured view of them.
Next we headed to the beach. Molly, Ryan and Michael swam in the Columbia River. It was too cold for me so I just took pictures. It was a beautiful view. There were lots of boats out on the water. After the swim we headed to Ellensburg to a fruit stand. We didn’t buy anything but enjoyed the antiques.
We finally got to Molly and Ryan’s about 4:30. After a quick shower we walked to a local Mexican restaurant to being celebrating Molly’s birthday. The food was good and we had a nice conversation with her friends. One of the girls there had graduated from Geneseo 2 years after me.
The rest of the evening was spent in the backyard sitting by the campfire, playing corn hole and eating cake! It was a great time but we were exhausted still being somewhat on East Coast time.
